- New search engine to enhance public understanding of civils works in their street
- Offers ISPs the opportunity to fairly promote their services and tariffs to the public
- Search engine works on smartphones, tablets and computers
United Kingdom – John Henry Group is set to launch a new ‘Google-like’ search engine which allows members of the public to better understand and access more information about works going on outside their homes and businesses.
The new search engine, called ‘Inmystreet.info’ works with smartphones, tablets and computers and allows people to search and find out about John Henry Group civils and telecoms works in their street and it also allows a platform for ISPs to advertise their broadband and telecoms services.
As part of the initiative, John Henry Group is set to introduce information points to each work site which can be scanned from a smartphone (pictured below on a courtesy board).
“Members of the public can scan the special boards with their smart phones and mobile devices, which in turn, opens the Inmystreet search page on their internet browser,” says group marketing manager Rob Andrews.
“They can then enter their street name or town into the website, which works a little bit like a mini version of Google or Yahoo – pulling up a list of live works sites close to, or in their street, hence the name.
“We hope that the technology will allow for closer interaction and better access to works information with the public as a PR/communications tool, as well as offering our clients to opportunity to promote their ISP services at the bottom of each online web page.
“This new technology also features as one of the stories in our official company magazine, John Henry COMMUNICA, which is set to be released in September.”
